We offer a stunning selection of Shimmer colours at Newcastle Swimming Pools. Some of our more popular pool colours are: Sky Blue Shimmer, Royal Alpine White Shimmer, Pacific Shimmer and Royal Ocean Shimmer!
Please note that our gelcoat colour sample effects are indicative only. The actual water colour will vary with different light levels, sunlight shadow, shade and surface water movement. One thing you can be confident about is that when you see the real thing, the effects will be stunning – no matter what shimmer colour you select.
Pencil compacting is a ‘must do’ around all pools as it is the best way to fully consolidate the excavation area between natural ground and the pool. View our explanation video and you will see that it is just one of the many ways Barrier Reef Pools are superior to others.
Timber boxing is formed up around the pool from waters edge 350mm wide. Two rows of N-12 Bar (Reo Bar) are laid between the perimeter of the timber boxing and the pool shell connecting into the pool shell provisions.
Concrete is then poured around the pool approx. 350mm wide from waters edge x 150mm deep. The concrete is then screeded to approx 15mm – 20mm below the top edge of the fibreglass. This footing provides a solid foundation for your pool headers to be fixed to and therefore will not allow any movement in the paving. (Optional 250mm x 150mm is also available).
As stated to the left concrete is left 15-20mm below the fibreglass edge. This is required so we can use a thick layer of paving bond between the concrete and the paver. This 4 Step process enables us to provide a Lifetime paving guarantee against any bullnose paving becoming loose around the pool’s edge (the paving company must be accredited through Barrier Reef Pools WA Pty Ltd).
